Is Yahweh Really All Knowing?

I always thought that Yahweh was all knowing until sometime last month. I was doing my devotions one morning and I came across a scripture verse that did not line up with Him being all knowing. It was Genesis 18:20-21. Now I've read this verse many times before, but I guess it was not with an open mind because I've been taught that of course He's all knowing, but this time it hit me and I saw what I have been missing for so long. It just did not seem to line up with what I have been taught. So I thought about it all morning and then decided that I needed to research it out for my self. Like so many other things I thing we take someone else's word for it instead of seeing what the Bible says about it and searching it out for our selves. I have been studying it out for about a month or so now and I thing I am ready to share my research. When I first started researching this I only had one verse to go with now I have several more.

Here are some Scriptures that will back up that Yahweh is not all knowing.

Genesis 18:20-21
And Yahweh said, “Because the outcry against Sedom and Amorah is great, and because their sin is very heavy, “I am going down now to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me, and if not I know.”

Yahweh had to come down to see if the report that He had heard was true or not. If He was all knowing why would He have had to come down in order to find out? He would have already
known.

Genesis 22:9-13
And they came to the place which Elohim had commanded him, and Abraham built a slaughter-place there and placed the wood in order. And he bound Yitshaq his son and laid him on the slaughter-place, upon the wood. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife so slay his son, but the Messenger of Yahweh called to him from the heavens and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy, nor touch him. For now I know that that you fear Elohim, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” And Abraham lifted his eyes and looked and saw behind him a ram caught in a bush by its horns, and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for an ascending offering instead of his son.

Here it is stated that only after Abraham raises his arm to do the deed does Yahweh truly know that he (Abraham) fears Elohim.

Deuteronomy 8:2
And you shall remember that Yahweh your Elohim led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, prove you, to know what is in your heart, whether you guard His commands or not.

If Yahweh is all knowing than wouldn't He already have known what was in their hearts and
whether or not they guarded His commands?

Deuteronomy 13:3
do not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for Yahweh your Elohim is trying you to know whether you love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being.

If Yahweh was all knowing He would have already known whether they loved Him with all of their hearts and all their beings or not.

2 Chronicles 32:31
However with the envoys of the princes of Babel, whom they sent to ask him about the wonder that was done in the land, Elohim left him, in order to try him, to know all that was in his heart.

It says here that Elohim left him in order to try him, so that He might know all that was in his heart. If Yahweh is all knowing why would He need to try him to know all that was in his
heart? He would already know all that was in his heart.

Numbers 22:9
And Elohim came to Bil'am and said, “Who are these men with you?”

If Yahweh is all knowing then why did He ask who the men were? He would have already have known. Right?

Hosea 8:4
They have made sovereigns, but not from Me. They have made rulers, but I have not known.; From their silver and gold they made idols for themselves, so that they are cut off.

Here Yahweh says that he did not know when they made rulers. If He is all knowing then you would think that He would have known.

Genesis 11:5-7
Then Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And Yahweh said, “Look, they are one people and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do! And now, they are not going to be withheld from doing whatever they plan to do. Come, let Us go there and confuse their language, so that they do not understand one another's speech.”

If Yahweh is all knowing than He would not need to go down to see the city and the tower, because He would have already known. It also sounds like He did not know what it was they were doing because He says "from whatever they plan to do.

Genesis 6:6
And Yahweh was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

What He was sorry that He had made man on the earth. If He's all knowing than He would have known that man would get wicked one day, that He would have to destroy the earth and that He would be feeling this way one day.

There are a lot more scripture verses and passages that back up that Yahweh is not all knowing.

Yahweh is still just as powerful as you thought He was just a minute ago. He still knows our thoughts that we are thinking. If Yahweh is all knowing do we really have free will? If Yahweh is all knowing than we become robots, we would be programmed to think a certain way, act a certain way and believe a certain way. Also we would be programmed to love Yahweh and yet the Scriptures say that Yahweh has given us the choice whether or not to love Him. Yahweh has a plan for every life, But because we have free will we must make our own choices and depending on the choices that we make we might not ever get to the plan that He has for us. Example, the children of Israel in the dessert it was not Yahweh's plan for them to have to wander in the wilderness for 40 years, It was because of the choices that some of them made, Yahweh still got them there it just took longer than what He was planning.

Yahweh is not everywhere at one time He stays up in His throne room. His throne room is in the heavens. Right? So if the earth is flat than you have a dome over it and the dome is clear. Somewhere in Scripture it says, His eyes go to and fro keeping watch on the evil and the good. So that fits together. And then why does He have angels/messengers? He has angels/messengers to help watch over us and to help guard us because He is up in His throne room and is not everywhere at one time. Also they are the ones who report things to Yahweh and then He has to make shore that it is true. (Like what happened at Sedom and Amorah.)

No where in the entire Scriptures does it say that Yahweh is all knowing. It just says that He is full of understanding, power, and wisdom. people try to use that to say that He knows everything but that is not what the Scriptures say.

If you look back in history you will find that people did not believe that Yahweh was all knowing until sometime after Christianity started coming out. The pagans believed that their Gods and Goddesses were all knowing and so they decided to say that Yahweh was all knowing. For the first long wile most of the believers did not except this however after so long a time it was no longer questioned.

Why does Yahweh test us? He tests us to find out what is in our hearts, to find out if we really do follow and believe in Him. He might have an idea however He does not know for sure. So that is why He tests us. Even Scripture says that He had to test in order that He might know. For Example, Genesis 22:9-13 You see it was a test to see if Abraham really, truly feared Elohim. See Elohim did not know until after the test, Because He said "for now I know". You can probably find more examples if you look closely.

Most when they read this will probably be thinking that I just went of the deep end, well that's fine. I'm just saying that we all need to have an open mind and know that we might be wrong in some ways. Anyway this is what Yahweh has shone me and now I am sharing it with you.

Please do not take my word for it but do your own research.

Shalom,
Esther
